An English translation of sociologie, sociology in Spanish, is being prepared by the Spanish sociological association in collaboration with an Italian sociologist.
The project aims to bring sociologically sound and accessible texts together, especially those of the past, as well as present and future.
The collaboration will be based on the understanding of sociological processes and their relevance in contemporary societies, the sociologist and the sociologist’s own social life, the research, texts and publications of the socologist, the context of the time in which they were written and the impact of social processes on them.
The sociologist and the researcher are also expected to participate in the writing and editing of the translation.
The new project, to be published in three volumes in 2018 and 2019, is expected to be the first work by sociological scholars in English.
It will aim to present sociologies and their analysis as a whole, to draw out the socological processes and social consequences that are central to them and to provide sociometric models for understanding and analysing the sociology of the society and of society’s social life.
The aim is to provide a coherent sociological understanding and to bring together sociogrammes from different fields and different disciplines, such as sociology of politics, sociological anthropology, sociology of language and other disciplines, and other fields that are also interested in sociological analysis.
The texts, which will be translated into Spanish, are expected to present the work of the current sociologist as well, while the research will also be presented in Spanish.
A few of the topics covered include the relationship between sociological theories, concepts and practices, social identities, the sociology of education, the socio-political economy of social exclusion and exclusion, the social context of contemporary society, the political economy of sociologist-society relations, and sociography of the social world.
